We have been here in Sosua for one week.
We have been here in Sosua for one week. We stayed only two nights at Sosua Ocean Village after we canceled our Airbnb because it was horribly dirty. I do not feel this is a town for children. The ocean village is, but if you stay in Sosua and intend on going in to walk the city, etc, no. It's so busy, with random dogs and motorbikes and cars everywhere. The number of times we had to walk on the busy road over the sidewalk was countless.
Sosua Beaches waves are big, which is not a good place to swim. Playa Alicia was better, but there was lots of garbage washed up on the beach - tons of it. I don't know why it isn't cleaned up. You also have to pay to use the palapas and chairs. We had our own beach towels, so we did not take advantage. Sosua Beaches vendors hassle you a bit, and the prices are high. You should not pay more than 100 pesos - more like 50 for a fresh coconut. One vendor tried to charge me 300 pesos.
The restaurants are plentiful, and lots have great food and great prices. Take note of the two taxes they add! There is 18% tax and then a 10% tax that is a service tax = 28% TAX. I have read that this 10% does not all go to the server and can be kept by management or distributed amongst all staff, so be sure to leave a couple of extra dollars if the service is great.
The Ocean Village is beautiful, but where this condo is situated is not ideal. You want to be away from the workers coming in and all their loud motorbikes that they rev repeatedly. The ivory or peach condos would be better. We would never stay in this condo again based on its location. Good Luck!

Horrible, dirty, the rooms are old and dirty, the towels were broken, the toilet was not working, the floor was dirty and the bed was broken. Not to forget that the bed sheets were used. There was not water to shower and i felt like i was in prison or something similar

I have been to Sosua 5 times for the beach, Playa Alicia is my favorite. The restaurants were plentiful & all great and it is a very walkable town. The traffic is noisy and a bit dangerous but if you like local flavor its ok. There is an overwhelming amount of Prostitution, so not a good place for children. I wish it could be cleaned up because they have some of the best beaches I've ever seen.

Sosua has changed considerably over the past few years but it is still a good time with many things to do. The beach is very nice and the water is calm and clear and great for swimming. We ate at Mofongo King and also at Valero 108 and the food was delicious 😋

For the single male traveler who want s modern room close to everything, this is a perfect hotel. Price is a little high but the free bottled water and modern rooms help to overlook the price. Great location.
The view was amazing! The property is beautiful and well kept and it was great to be able to step out of the condo and jump In the ocean. The bed was comfortable and showers toilets etc worked perfectly. Location is perfect and close to everything. Great security, we always felt very safe. Sosua is not a dangerous place anyway, we’ve been staying there for 15 years without a problem but it’s nice to have extra security for the first two weeks I was there before my husband arrived. overall I highly recommend
The hotel is located next to the ocean cliff and view is great. There are two separate buildings that have rooms for visitors, separate restaurant and a bar. The hotel must have looked great and luxurious few decades ago, but unfortunately it has not been maintained with enough money that it requires, but you can get the feeling about very nice place when you are in the outside and in the hotel common area. Nice pool and outside areas. One beach was few minutes walk away, the another beach is near also.
I really enjoyed my stay in Sosua at Monika's place! She was such a nice host and a lovely person in general, she was so helpful all of the time and making sure that everything was alright. The apartment is located in a calm and safe area and a nice quick walk if you want to get to the town center.
The place itself is also really beautiful, you have a pool surrounded by a garden with palm trees and you have your own apartment next to Monika's.
If I come back I would definitely stay again with her :))
Very basic place, rooms on the top floor of somebody's house. Just a bed and case, not even a chair inside the room. But also quite cheap, so I was not expecting much. Few local fastfoods and cafeterias nearby, bigger supermarket across the street. 800m to Sosua beach and diving centers. Polite owner. WiFI was OK, broke down few times for a moment but generally works reasonably. Small swimming pool available for guests.
It's a very spacious apartment with everything you need. We had multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, full kitchen, patio and a washer and dryer. It's right in the heart of Sosua so you can walk to restaurants and bars. There is a nice big pool in the center but we spent our time at the beach and the infinity pool. It's a nice calm quiet stretch of beach with very few people. The water is very clear and refreshing.
I made a reservation because I always reserve a room at the same hotel, but this time it was different, I rented from an individual owner who had his own system and payment methods. The price was lower and the location of the hotel that was the only things I like it about the property.
The big King sized bed, the clean room, and bathroom, the lights in the ceiling and above the bed, the free bottled water. I loved how the hotel is nearby to all the beache, bars and restaraunts in the area.
An excellent apartman in Sosua. The owner is a wonderful woman. She is very helpful. She made original italian dinner for us. The room was big and comfortable. We so sorry that we could stay only one night.
We spent 10 days in a quieter part of Sosua, but still close to the center and the beach. The apartment is like home, the owner is very helpful, honest and is always in contact with him if necessary
The location, by the tiny beach and away from Sosua main street. I love the easy access to Playa Chiquita and the swimming pool which was amazing. Its big, water is great, super clean!
